We are proud members of the Central States Ticket Brokers Association (CSTBA). We are also members of the Better Business Bureau and it’s Online Reliability Program. We are licensed and bonded as ticket brokers with the State of Illinois.

The office of the Illinois Secretary of State http://www.sos.state.il.us licenses us. Our current license number is 2009-23. We are required to renew our license every year and also must post a $100,000 cash bond to provide for consumer protection. Our cash bond is on deposit collectively through the members of the CSTBA.

Hot Seats is located in Itasca, Illinois. We are about 30-45 minutes Northwest of Chicago and about 5 miles south of Woodfield Shopping Mall in Schaumburg. We are adjacent to the Wyndham Hotel off I-290 and Thorndale Ave.

  1. We are located just off Interstate I-290
  2. Exit at Thorndale Ave and go east.
  3. Follow Thorndale Ave. up to the first cross street – Park Blvd. Turn Left on Park Blvd.

Buying from a Ticket Broker

Due to an increase of internet traffic, a higher volume of calls to phone lines and long, frustrating waits in lines, it can be very difficult to purchase good seats, or ANY seats in some cases, when they go on sale through the box office. For this reason, ticket brokers are increasingly becoming the route to take when you need tickets for a hard to get or sold out event.

You are guaranteed a personalized service where we can develop a relationship with our customers and understand your needs when it comes to providing you with tickets for events.

All of our sales staff is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to quoting out seats. We understand that it is very important to be 100% accurate with everything we quote. We have seating diagrams with all pertinent information for each venue so we can give you recommendations as to the quality of the seats you are interested in.

One of the biggest differences between a ticket broker and the box office is that you have a choice of where you get to sit. As an example, if the event you would like to attend is completely sold out through the box office, we can provide you with superb quality seating for that event (including seating in the first ten rows, on the fifty yard line or center court seating).

Because of the high demand on events that a ticket broker will stock, prices for tickets will be above the face value. In some cases, the price could be slightly higher than the face value or in other cases where the demand is greater than the availability, the prices could be considerably higher. We recommend doing business with a company that you can trust handling your needs. You should always inquire as to how long they have been in business, whether or not they are licensed to re-sell tickets above the face value, and if they belong to any type of Broker Associations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a “Broker”?
A:

A Broker is defined as “One hired for a fee to negotiate purchases, contracts, or sales”. A ticket broker does just that. There are people that want to sell their tickets and there are also people that want to buy those same tickets. There are 2 ways that a broker can do this. The broker can buy the tickets outright from the seller and hope that they can sell them. If the market drops or the tickets don’t get sold the broker incurs the loss. The second way is the broker could take the tickets from the seller on consignment and keep a fee if they are sold. Either way a ticket broker puts the buyers and the sellers together for a fee.

Q: Why are the tickets above face value?
A:

Tickets are being sold at “Market Price”. This means that the ticket brokers are also buying them at well above face value. Basically if someone is selling their tickets to a major event, they generally want to sell them for what they are worth. The majority of the price of the ticket is usually the cost for obtaining them. Then there are general business expenses added to the cost of the tickets.

 

Q: How do we know that the tickets are genuine tickets?
A:

By purchasing from a licensed ticket broker you can be assured that we have taken the necessary precautions to guarantee that they are genuine. We verify all of our sources for tickets and only buy from those that are reliable.

 

Q: Isn’t it true that if it was not for all the ticket brokers that buy the tickets that there would be plenty of seats for the fans?
A:

No. Ticket brokers generally have a very small percentage of seats to any event and it does not affect availability at all. Most shows that are sold out would not even come close to having enough seats for all the fans wanting to attend.

 

Q: Don’t ticket brokers purchase large blocks of tickets that are never offered to the public?
A:

No. Most performers and sports teams assure that this does not happen. Promoters make sure that the tickets are not sold in advance and impose limits when they go on sale so that one person cannot buy a large block. The tickets that brokers have available are usually purchased at the general public on sale a couple of seats at a time.

 

Q: Can I check references on Hot Seats?
A:

Yes. We are licensed by the Secretary of State of Illinois and we are also members of Illinois chapter of the Texas Ticket Brokers Association.

 

Q: Isn’t it illegal to sell for more than face value?
A:

No. It does generally require a license and set of standards to follow. In Illinois where we are licensed it also requires a $100,000 cash bond for consumer protection to be held either privately or through an association. By purchasing through a licensed ticket broker you can be assured that you are dealing with a reputable broker. We are licensed to sell in 98% of the markets and will notify you if we cannot. All transactions that we handle meet all state and local provisions.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
There are no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations on any order once it is submitted to us. Hot Seats is not responsible for any lost or stolen tickets, change of venue, date, time or rainout. We are a privately owned ticket agency. Ticket prices are based on the difficulty and costs in obtaining premium seats. In the event of a cancellation, Hot Seats will either issue a store credit for the entire amount of purchase (minus shipping charges) upon receipt of tickets and documentation of purchase OR issue a cash/credit card refund for the original face value of purchased
tickets minus any Ticketmaster/Box Office service charges. No additional fees will be refunded. Tickets for cancelled events MUST be returned to our office within (14) day of original date of event to receive credit. There are no refunds on postponed or rescheduled events. We rely on the original issuer of the ticket that tickets not marked obstructed or limited view are clear view seats. We are also not responsible for any changes made by a venue or unusual stage or equipment set-up.

All Prices are guaranteed at the time the order is CONFIRMED by Hot Seats.

Online orders placed after 5PM CT weekdays or on weekends may not be processed until the next working day.

All deposits are non-refundable

When you receive your tickets keep them in a safe place. Tickets cannot be replaced if they are lost, stolen or damaged. Please note that direct sunlight or heat can damage some tickets.

If an event is cancelled for any reason other than an act of God (rained out, earthquake, flood, etc.), strike, or lockout we will provide a full refund for the amount that you paid for the tickets. Any shipping charges are not refundable.

If an event is postponed the tickets will be honored for the new date of the show. New tickets will not need to be issued. If you cannot make the new date we will accept the tickets back from you on a consignment basis only.

In case of a rainout or strike for a sporting event no refunds will be made. You must exchange the ticket at the ballpark for a seat to a future game that is still available.

Events taking place within the Chicago city limits may have tax added to the order varying from 5% to 9%.

Since tickets are bought and sold on an open market prices are subject to change at any time.

Inventory Availability

Because we are dealing with many different sources, tickets cannot be sold in real time. We do our best to keep up and constantly update the web site with ticket availability to make it as accurate as possible. However prices and availability are extremely subject to change. This is especially true in the days or even the couple weeks preceding a major national event, such as the Super Bowl or the World Series. The same tickets can drop or increase dramatically in price within hours. Most events don’t have this kind of volatility but it can happen. We will provide you with availability and delivery information when your order is processed or upon request.

 

 

 

Selling Your Tickets

If you have tickets that you would like to sell please fill out a tickets to sell form.

Please make sure to fill out all information that is necessary including exact seat locations and how much you are offering to sell them for.

Tickets may also be accepted on a consignment basis. If you prefer to send them on consignment please indicate that.

Please be aware that we will require positive identification on any tickets that we purchase or take in on consignment. This would involve at least a legible copy of your driver’s license and a letter signed that you wish to sell them. Details will be provided when an agreement is reached.

Consignment tickets: If you want to try and get a higher price than what we are offering you, Hot Seats also accepts consignment tickets. You tell us how much you want us to ask for the tickets. However we must have possession of the tickets in order to list your tickets on our web site. If you would prefer to send consignment tickets please note that in the comments field of the tickets to sell form. We return to the seller 75% of the sale price for consignments. Consignments can have a higher dollar return than if we purchase your tickets outright, however it is also possible that consignment tickets can go unsold. Consignments are settled on a weekly basis even if only some of your tickets have been sold. The seller has the right to take his/her consignment tickets back at any time. The seller would be responsible for the shipping charges in this case.

Note: All consignments must be approved by Hot Seats before they are sent to us.

 

 

 

Payment Options

 

Paying by Credit Card
We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. The Billing Address will be verified with your credit card company so you must use the exact address that your statements are sent. Should you require that the order be shipped to an alternate address we will require faxed authorization from you. This includes a signed copy of the invoice along with legible copies of your driver’s license and the credit card that was used. This is done to protect both of us against fraudulent use.

Paying by Check/Money Order
Hot Seats Ticket Service accepts personal checks either in person in our office or via mail. Checks sent to Hot Seats Ticket Service MUST be received no later than (14) days prior to date of event being purchased.

Although we do accept checks – Hot Seats has the right to refuse any check for any reason whatsoever upon our discretion.

To make a payment using a cashiers check or money order: The order must be submitted by phone. Payment by cashiers check or money order may not be available on all ticket orders. If your request can be handled, the tickets may be held for up to 24 hours. The cashiers check or money order must be sent to us using an overnight delivery service. Payment will also be accepted at our office.

Paying by Cash
We accept cash payments only in our Itasca, Illinois office.

Sales Tax

Most tickets that we sell are not taxed, however, we do collect city entertainment tax where required by law.

Generally any event that takes place within the Chicago city limits requires that we collect an entertainment tax that is variable up to
9%

 

 

Hot Seats requires a signature on all deliveries.

All deliveries are made via Federal Express unless otherwise noted and agreed upon by Hot Seats and customer.

Hot Seats is NOT responsible for lost/stolen packages left without signature due to recipient having signature release on file with Federal Express.

We do not allow any reroutes on the package. The courier must deliver it to the address on the package. They cannot deliver it to any other address. If you have any specific delivery requirements please make those arrangements when you place the order.

Tickets are normally sent to your credit card billing address.

The Billing Address will be verified with your credit card company so you must use the exact address that your statements are sent.

Should you require that the order be shipped to an alternate address we will require faxed authorization from you. This includes a signed copy of the invoice along with legible copies of your driver’s license and the credit card that was used. This is done to protect both of us against fraudulent use.

The tickets will be delivered using the best method. If possible we will inform you of the courier and when to expect delivery when the order is confirmed.

Please note that the delivery times are from the date that we ship the order. Some tickets will require 1-2 days processing time (orders placed after normal business hours and orders placed over the weekends).

Buying/Redeeming Gift Certificates

Instructions for redeeming Hot Seats gift certificates:

We ask that you contact us at (800) 551-4681 to place an order that will be purchased in part or in whole with a Hot Seats gift certificate.

  • If your order exceeds your gift certificate amount, the balance can be charged to a credit card, paid via certified check/money order, or cash in our office.
  • If your gift certificate amount exceeds your order the remaining difference will be noted we will place the difference in our system to be used on your next order. You will not be issued a new certificate for the difference, just continue to use the original gift certificate.

A copy of the gift certificate will be necessary to be redeemed. Copy can be sent via fax, mail, or in person.

Hot Seats is not associated with and is not an agent or authorized representative of any professional or amateur sporting or racing league or association, such as MLB, NCAA, NFL, NBA, NHL, USTA, PGA, LPGA, USGA, NASCAR, WBA or any association, educational institution, club, corporation, partnership, player, team or other individual or entity participating in or sponsoring any sporting event, or of any other business or charitable artist, association, company, corporation, individual, organization, partnership, performer or other entity or person conducting, participating in, producing or sponsoring any other entertainment event, and all logos and names of any of them are their property and used for purposes of factual description only.

Ticket Listings

Through our efforts we obtain tickets to entertainment events of all sorts and make them available to our customers. We regularly list our current inventory of tickets we have available on our site, so that you can determine what tickets you would like to purchase and place an order for them.

Accuracy of Listings

Listings on our website our are updated regularly, yet are not in real time. As a result, ticket availability and prices shown on our site may change without notice. We do our absolute best to have the most current availability listed on our website at all times.

Ticket Prices

Through its various sources Hot Seats is able to obtain tickets to events that are sold out or for which tickets are otherwise not easily obtainable. Our prices for tickets are normally more than the printed face value on the ticket. The amount over the face value you are charged is a service charge. The service charge varies with each ticket and is based on supply and demand for said ticket.

Number of Tickets

All sets of tickets are located next to each other unless otherwise indicated or we notify you otherwise. You may request a small quantity of tickets out of a larger set of tickets listed (for example, 2 tickets out of the 8 listed), but we cannot sell an odd number of seats from an even numbered lot (for example, 3 tickets out of the 4 listed) without verbal authorization for Hot Seats. In some instances, smaller lots cannot be split out of a larger lot. If this is the case, you will be notified immediately by Hot Seats and a suitable replacement set of tickets will be offered to you for your consideration. If we cannot fill your order as you requested, we will notify you promptly, and may offer alternative tickets or direct you back to our web-site to check current inventory. We are not obligated to fill any order and may refuse your order in our sole discretion.

Lost or Stolen Tickets, Rescheduling

Once tickets are received, they cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Hot Seats is not responsible for time changes or rescheduling of events; it is your responsibility to confirm the time and date of the event with the sponsor.

Effect of Non-confirmation

If Hot Seats cannot fill your order, or offer an acceptable replacement, we will cancel the charge or issue a full refund promptly.

Payment

You agree that by ordering tickets on-line, you authorize us to charge your credit card if we are able to fill your order for the quoted price of the tickets requested and any applicable taxes, charges, surcharges.

Delivery

We deliver all orders by Federal Express and require a signature on all deliveries. If you believe Federal Express will not provide adequate delivery service to your address, please contact us promptly about alternative shipping methods. We do not have to agree to use any other delivery service that we believe may not be able to make a guaranteed timely delivery to you. We are responsible solely for timely delivery of your order to the delivery service so that it can reach you within the delivery period guaranteed by the service; we are not responsible for timely delivery to you by any delivery service.

We will deliver to the billing address of your credit card unless you have registered another shipping address with your issuing bank and indicate such registered address in your order. You may call us with special delivery instructions, but we will require faxed or original copies of your driver’s license, credit card and signature on our invoice (e-mailed or other) in order to protect you and Hot Seats against credit card fraud.

You are responsible for providing your correct billing and/or shipping address. We will charge you a fee if we have to re-route a shipment we have already sent because of your error in supplying the shipping address (by telephone or on-line order). We are not responsible for any claims because tickets arrived late or not at all because you provided incomplete, inaccurate or missing shipping information in your order.

Our business is such that delivery of tickets can be as late as the day of the event. If delivery of tickets for an event is not scheduled at least two (2) business days before the event, please call or e-mail us in order to obtain tracking information and to alert us to any unexpected delays.

Hot Seats will not be responsible for any late delivery if you do not contact us (by telephone conversation or fax or other electronic transmission with electronic verification of receipt) during business hours at least two (2) business days before the event to notify us that your tickets have not arrived.

Limitation of Liability

Delivery Failure by Federal Express or Other Delivery Service

Hot Seats is not responsible for late delivery, non-delivery or loss of your tickets because Federal Express or any other delivery service we have agreed to use at your request fails to deliver according to its guaranteed terms. Customer must contact delivery service at fault for non-delivery
or late delivery for compensation.

Hot Seats’ Failure to Deliver

If we cannot deliver tickets for a confirmed order, Hot Seats’ liability will not exceed the original purchase price paid by our customer for the tickets. If any tickets sold by Hot Seats to you cannot be used because they turn out to have been stolen, counterfeited or reported lost by the original purchaser, and we purchased those tickets in good faith, Hot Seats’ liability to you will not be more than the original price paid by you (including taxes, shipping and other charges) for such tickets.

No Consequential or Other Special Damages

IN NO EVENT WILL HOT SEATS OR ANY THIRD-PARTY PROVIDER OF MATERIALS FOR THIS SITE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY, LOSS, CLAIM, DAMAGE OR ANY SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS OR LOST SAVINGS), ARISING FROM OR OTHERWISE CONNECTED WITH (A) ANY USE OF THIS SITE OR CONTENT FOUND ON THIS SITE, (B) ANY FAILURE OR DELAY, OR (C) THE PERFORMANCE OR NON-PERFORMANCE BY HOT SEATS OR ANY SUCH THIRD-PARTY PROVIDER, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF DAMAGES TO THE CLAIMING PARTY.

Additional Services

Pre-Orders

Tickets for certain events are not distributed until shortly before the event. In such cases, we cannot confirm orders for a period of time, but will establish a waiting list. Please call us to get on a waiting list, and we will contact you as soon as we have tickets that you may order. The waiting lists are based on a first-come, first-served basis for tickets in various price classes; we may charge a non-refundable fee for putting you on the waiting list for certain very desirable tickets, but this will not guarantee acceptance and confirmation of your order.

Season Tickets

Because various states and organizations place legal or contractual restrictions on the resale of season tickets, Hot Seats does not resell season tickets as such. We can often, however, customize special packages for the series of events for which you may wish tickets. Please call us with your requests and requirements.

Miscellaneous

Governing Law

This Agreement and Hot Seats and your obligations will be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States of America. By using the web-site or Hot Seats’ services, you agree that all legal proceedings with respect to this Agreement, this web-site and Hot Seats’ services must be brought in State or Federal courts located in the City of Chicago, State of Illinois and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of and laying of venue in such courts. Nevertheless, we may seek to enforce any award in such proceedings against you in any other jurisdiction where you are located or have assets.

Injunctive Relief

You agree that your violation or attempted violation of the terms and conditions of this Agreement may cause irreparable damage to Hot Seats, the exact amount of which would be difficult to ascertain and for which there may be no adequate legal remedy. Accordingly, you agree that we may seek an injunction from a court of competent jurisdiction to restrain you and others acting with you from such violation or attempted violation with having to post a bond or other security, and that we may recover our costs and expenses in obtaining such injunction from you and such other parties.

Attorney’s Fees

If Hot Seats takes any action to enforce this Agreement and its terms and conditions against you, we will be entitled to recover from you, and you agree to pay, all reasonable and necessary attorney’s fees and any costs of litigation, in addition to any other relief at law or in equity to which we may be entitled.

Modification, Additional Terms, Entire Agreement

We reserve the right at any time and from time to time to modify the terms and conditions of this Agreement, and your use of this site at any future time will be based on the terms and conditions then in effect. This Agreement and such other terms and conditions set forth elsewhere constitute our entire agreement with you regarding your use of this web-site and Hot Seats’ services, and that agreement may not be modified with respect to any existing order or purchase without both Hot Seats’ and the affected customer’s consent as set forth on this site or in other written or electronic communications between them.

 

If we cannot fill your order as you requested, we will notify you promptly, and may offer alternative tickets or direct you back to our web-site to check current inventory. We are not obligated to fill any order and may refuse your order in our sole discretion.

Lost or Stolen Tickets, Rescheduling

Once tickets are received, they cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Hot Seats is not responsible for time changes or rescheduling of events; it is your responsibility to confirm the time and date of the event with the sponsor.

Effect of Non-confirmation

If Hot Seats cannot fill your order, or offer an acceptable replacement, we will cancel the charge or issue a full refund promptly.

Payment

You agree that by ordering tickets on-line, you authorize us to charge your credit card if we are able to fill your order for the quoted price of the tickets requested and any applicable taxes, charges, surcharges.

Delivery

We deliver all orders by Federal Express and require a signature on all deliveries. If you believe Federal Express will not provide adequate delivery service to your address, please contact us promptly about alternative shipping methods. We do not have to agree to use any other delivery service that we believe may not be able to make a guaranteed timely delivery to you. We are responsible solely for timely delivery of your order to the delivery service so that it can reach you within the delivery period guaranteed by the service; we are not responsible for timely delivery to you by any delivery service.

We will deliver to the billing address of your credit card unless you have registered another shipping address with your issuing bank and indicate such registered address in your order. You may call us with special delivery instructions, but we will require faxed or original copies of your driver’s license, credit card and signature on our invoice (e-mailed or other) in order to protect you and Hot Seats against credit card fraud.

You are responsible for providing your correct billing and/or shipping address. We will charge you a fee if we have to re-route a shipment we have already sent because of your error in supplying the shipping address (by telephone or on-line order). We are not responsible for any claims because tickets arrived late or not at all because you provided incomplete, inaccurate or missing shipping information in your order.

Our business is such that delivery of tickets can be as late as the day of the event. If delivery of tickets for an event is not scheduled at least two (2) business days before the event, please call or e-mail us in order to obtain tracking information and to alert us to any unexpected delays.

Hot Seats will not be responsible for any late delivery if you do not contact us (by telephone conversation or fax or other electronic transmission with electronic verification of receipt) during business hours at least two (2) business days before the event to notify us that your tickets have not arrived.

Neither Hot Seats nor any third-party provider of materials to this site is responsible for any such damage to your computer equipment or other property resulting from your access to, use of or browsing on this site or your downloading of any materials, data, text, images, video or audio from this site.

Delivery Failure by Federal Express or Other Delivery Service

Hot Seats is not responsible for late delivery, non-delivery or loss of your tickets because Federal Express or any other delivery service we have agreed to use at your request fails to deliver according to its guaranteed terms.
Customer must contact delivery service at fault for non-delivery
or late delivery for compensation.

Hot Seats’ Failure to Deliver

If we cannot deliver tickets for a confirmed order, Hot Seats’ liability will not exceed the original purchase price paid by our customer for the tickets. If any tickets sold by Hot Seats to you cannot be used because they turn out to have been stolen, counterfeited or reported lost by the original purchaser, and we purchased those tickets in good faith, Hot
Seats’ liability to you will not be more than the original price paid by you (including taxes, shipping and other charges) for such tickets.

No Consequential or Other Special Damages

Additional Services

Pre-Orders

Tickets for certain events are not distributed until shortly before the event. In such cases, we cannot confirm orders for a period of time, but will establish a waiting list. Please call us to get on a waiting list, and we will contact you as soon as we have tickets that you may order. The waiting lists are based on a first-come, first-served basis for tickets in various price classes; we may charge a non-refundable fee for putting you on the waiting list for certain very desirable tickets, but this will not guarantee acceptance and confirmation of your order.

Season Tickets

Because various states and organizations place legal or contractual restrictions on the resale of season tickets, Hot Seats does not resell season tickets as such. We can often, however, customize special packages for the series of events for which you may wish tickets. Please call us with your requests and requirements.

Miscellaneous

Governing Law

This Agreement and Hot Seats and your obligations will be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States of America. By using the web-site or Hot
Seats’ services, you agree that all legal proceedings with respect to this Agreement, this web-site and Hot
Seats’ services must be brought in State or Federal courts located in the City of Chicago, State of Illinois and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of and laying of venue in such courts. Nevertheless, we may seek to enforce any award in such proceedings against you in any other jurisdiction where you are located or have assets.

Injunctive Relief

You agree that your violation or attempted violation of the terms and conditions of this Agreement may cause irreparable damage to Hot Seats, the exact amount of which would be difficult to ascertain and for which there may be no adequate legal remedy. Accordingly, you agree that we may seek an injunction from a court of competent jurisdiction to restrain you and others acting with you from such violation or attempted violation with having to post a bond or other security, and that we may recover our costs and expenses in obtaining such injunction from you and such other parties.

Attorney’s Fees

If Hot Seats takes any action to enforce this Agreement and its terms and conditions against you, we will be entitled to recover from you, and you agree to pay, all reasonable and necessary attorney’s fees and any costs of litigation, in addition to any other relief at law or in equity to which we may be entitled.

Modification, Additional Terms, Entire Agreement

We reserve the right at any time and from time to time to modify the terms and conditions of this Agreement, and your use of this site at any future time will be based on the terms and conditions then in effect.
